Smarter Accounting are delighted to have acquired the flagship property at 5 Den Road, Teignmouth, formerly the NatWest Bank.  We’re also hiring staff with accounting experience in a wide variety of roles across the business. 

This is an exciting time for Smarter Accounting as it represents a significant investment in the Teignmouth Branch and local towns.  Not a day goes by without retailers announcing store closures and job losses as Coronavirus has been a huge shock to the retail industry.   Shopping habits are changing, but even with the rise of online, local shops still need a high street presence and caring staff.   At Smarter, we’ve seen that fragile consumer confidence is showing signs of improving as more retailers exit lockdown in our local towns and villages.  But if everyone makes more of a conscious effort to use their local shops just a little bit each week, they will survive and thrive.

The corner building on Den Road, Teignmouth has been empty since the NatWest branch closed in May 2018. We’re glad to be able to put the lovely building to good use again and have already begun works to get the new office ready!  A move date to the new premises is yet to be set, but we will keep everyone updated with the plans and the developments as they evolve.
